coverage begins with chief meteorologist doug kammerer. this storm seems to be right on schedule. >> it really does. it is now moving close to 30 miles an hour. it has made a beeline for the jersey coast. it is now just to the north and coming ashore. you can see what's going on. a ton of rain on the west side of the storm. but notice, the strongest side, normally the northeast corner here, that's where you see the strongest winds, 84-mile-an-hour wind gusts in long island. notice the rain here, really cutting off on the back side, as it makes its way in. we'll continue to see rain here, though, as we continue to be on the southwest side of the storm. here's atlantic city. here's the ey coming onshower right now. atlantic city, probably seeing the strongest winds they have seen in years. maybe even decades right now. potentially 90, 100-mile-an-hour winds with this storm. you can see the outer eye wall which is right here through cape may county, new jersey, along the delaware bay. we're watching this rig around rehoboth beach. they're probably seeing very strong winds out of the

, after several cold days, we had a bit of a warm-up today, but we're about to plummet again. doug kammerer joins us outside on storm 4 weather deck with the details. doug? >> guys, i wore the red tie for the nationals, and you know what happens now, since they lost, i've got to throw this tie away. i've got to get another one for tomorrow's game. but that's aok for me. because tomorrow i think we've got this thing. 70 degrees out here right now. the warmest day we've seen since saturday, last saturday. winds out of southwest at 9 miles an hour. that is ahead of a frontal boundary. we're seeing more clouds move in, but still a rather nice evening. i want you to notice the numbers, 70 in annapolis, 71 in fredericksburg, look back to the northwest. cumberland, maryland, right now at 55 degrees. that frontal boundary starting to come through the region. you can see it very clearly defined with the cloud cover in through west virginia, in through portions of western maryland. that front will move through tonight. we're talking about some rather cool numbers, if you're heading to fairfa

for possibly a stormy night. storm 4 chief meteorologist doug kammerer is tracking everything on the radar. how is it looking? >> right now looking at the showers and storms off to the west. and down to our south, too. nobody is seeing any rain right now. 69 degrees at the airport. looking at mostly cloudy skies. quin the winds now coming off the potomac towards the airport now. 70 degrees in leesburg. 73 in fredericksburg. a little cooler to the west. winchester right now sitting at 64 degrees. you can see on the radar, no real shower activity around the immediate area. but notice just south of fredericksburg, starting to see some showers entering spotsylvania county. that's the first area of rain we'll see just to the north of richmond. it will move right up i-95 and be in the washington, d.c., area in just two hours. the area in west virginia, strong storms back there, they could try to move through our region overnight tonight. most areas will get wet overnight tonight. we'll also talk about what you can expect tomorrow. tomorrow morning could be a little rough. pat? >> all right. thanks. >

moved out but the storm remains. it is still having an impact. doug kammerer joins us with that. >> it is a much different impact than what we saw yesterday. we have been watching this storm for well over a week, week and a half. in the last 36 hours we've seen it into the atlantic ocean. we saw it make that turn back to shore. something we have never really seen before. a storm all the way out in the atlantic moved right back into our area. and that's whye saw all the rain. that's why we've seen all the wind from this storm and now, we're seeing the cold weather. we're also still seeing the shower activity. yocan see the rain right now through washington, d.c. area. right through waldorf and winchester. back through leesburg and we have seen some snow flakes in parts of the area. especially on the higher elevations. back toward the blue ridge. back toward the shenandoah valley and parts of west virginia where it is still snowing right now. as far as the wider picture, just look at the circulation coming right down out of canada. all the way down through our region and that make
